Global warming (Summary and Response practice)

Global warming

In Bhattacharya’s (2004) article, “Global warming threatens millions of species,” she writes about how much global warming affects land animals and plants. She claims that many land animals and plants may be endangered by global warming in a few decades. Also, she mentions both previous and new studies that are about the relationship between global warming and species. And, she adds the new study is most detailed and exact. Moreover, the author says 1103 species may currently be expected to live in the future, even though it is hot in the world. However, she claims that even though some species would live, it is not all species that can be adapted to the weather. Finally, she claims the governments have to think of some solutions and develop new energy.

It is true that global warming is threatening many species, including humans. Actually, global warming is one of the serious problems in the world, today. Because of the increasing use of fossil fuel, the temperature of the atmosphere has been increasing for a long time. So, the author’s opinion of making solutions and developing new energy should be considered seriously, because of the extinction of animals, alternative energy and climate change.

First, global warming causes some animals to disappear in the world. For example, a polar bear that lives in polar area cannot live in the warm weather because the animal has adapted to the cold weather. Also, the polar bear needs to stay with a glacier above the water. If the weather is so warm that the glacier may be melted, all polar bears will be exterminated in the world. Moreover, our descendants will not be able to see the polar bear anymore.

Second, the government should develop other alternative energy, even if it is not for global warming. Because we use a large amount of fossil fuel, the fossil fuel is going to become extinct. For keeping all industry or our life, the government should develop other kinds of alternative energy. In addition, developing alternative energy will be helpful for global warming because it makes people not use fossil fuel anymore. Actually, using fossil fuel makes a lot of polluted air and causes global warming. So, it is very helpful to develop alternative energy.

Finally, the government should stop global warming because of climate change. Actually, there are many kinds of climate changes in the world, today. For example, there are some odd situations such as snowing in April or blooming of flowers during winter. The odd situation is caused by climate change that is caused by global warming. It is not a serious situation now. However, if they happen for a long time, people cannot ignore the situation anymore. It will be a serious problem in the future.

In conclusion, the author’s opinion should be respected because of extinction of species, need of new alternative energy and climate change. Not only should the government think about the solution to stop global warming, but also all individuals should think about that, too. The scale of global warming is not small, so it is impossible to solve the problem if just some groups try to change it. When everyone tries to settle the problem, it is going to get better.
